A Day With Dad

Dad has spent a day on his own with Harry.  Thanks to Mums preparation Dad was able to follow the plan and had a great day with Harry.

Breakfast was a laugh.  Dad is that a Newcastle dressing gown.  Yes Harry, it's cold in the morning.

Harry loves his eggs, Easter is coming soon.

Then in the afternoon it was time for a trip to the Ulster Transport Museum with Dads friend Alister and his two girls Hannah and Zoe.  It was Dads first trip to the museum and both Dad and Harry will want to back again.  There is so much to see and do, it was very interesting.

Hey Dad, was there a railway line in Newtownards?  This in the signal and track changing leavers from there.

These trains were very big.  Look at the size of the wheels.  This must have been a fast train.

So in the old days horses were used to pull the trams and fire engines to the correct location.

Here is Harry in front of an old milk float for the co op.

Hey Dad I'm the bus driver and Hannah is the conductor.

Harry and Dad check out this old car.  Maybe Grandpa can tell us more about it.

Hey Harry this car is used in a famous movie trilogy and the car was made in Belfast.  Definitely a bit different with the doors and stainless steal panels.

Yep 'Back to the future' with Michael J Fox, that was the film trilogy.

A great day out and thanks to Alister for suggesting a visit to the Museum, we had lots of fun.

Daddy Day Care

So Mum is away on a training course learning how to restrain Dad. Dad has taken the day off work to have fun with Harry. So far he has done a good job.

Breakfast check, playtime check, bath time check, nap time check.

Looking forward to the rest of the day.

Scotland Adventure

Harry had a great Scotland adventure from the 25th February - 1st March.  The trip started a bit difficult when Mum noticed that Dad had booked the return boat trip for the 29th March. Silly Dad had to correct the problem.

An early start was required to be on time for the 7.30am boat, Harry had no problem with this and once on board he was ready to adventure around the boat and see what was available.

Harry came prepared with a bib for the occasion.

Dad had a nice sausage bap.

There was a nice fish tank projection in the middle of the boat that Harry loved and he had the whole kids play area to himself.

The sailing was very smooth, we couldn't have had better weather, the sun was shining and there was no wind.  A very enjoyable crossing.

On the way up to the Hotel Dad had to stop to take some photos.

The Fairfield hotel was lovely and the staff very friendly.  We settled in very quickly.

It was only a short walk from the beach and the kids play area.  So Mum, dad and Harry quickly ventured out to make the most of the good weather.

The kids play park was very big and had some swings that Harry could play on.  Mum and Dad enjoyed some nice beach front walks and a nice ice-cream.

Harry was very excited about dinner in the hotel especially as Dad had ordered a Guinness but Harry was going to fight for it.

Harry had a long swim in the hotel pool and was exhausted after.

That didn't last long and he was up and ready for more very quickly.

The whole family had a lovely stay and our 2 days there were very enjoyable

It was time to travel across Scotland to Edinburgh to visit Auntie Debbie.  As soon as we arrived Debbie was ready to take us out and into the town to see the famous castle and we met some interesting people along the way.

At the end of a long day Harry is always excited about a nice dinner.

On the second day in Edinburgh we decided to visit the zoo, which the famous Giant Pandas, Tian Tian and Yang Guang.

I also saw the One-Horned Rhinos, wild cats and lots of other animals.

Harry couldn't come to Scotland without getting into the spirit and decided it was time to join the clan.

Aye, fight and you may die, run, and you'll live... at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade all of that from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take away our lives, but they'll never take our freeeedoooomm.

Staying with Auntie Debbie and her pet rabbit Harvey was a lot of fun and we really enjoyed our stay with her and look forward to visiting again.

Just time for a big Scottish breakfast before starting the trip home.

We stopped for a few photos on the way home and dad couldn't resist one more photo of the sun.

Our week adventure was over and a lot of fun.
