Day one. Thursday morning leaving the house at 430am to get the ferry 730. Arrived at 630am and Dad got a text message from Stenaline, boat delayed until 9am :-( It was a very wet and windy day but we popped into the terminal for a coffee. Harry had a look around. 8am and we got back out into the car to be ready to drive on. 850am and text from stena. The ferry was cancelled and we were now transferred to the next ferry at 1130am. Back into the terminal for a toasties and more coffee. Very unhappy. Harry was fantastic and some friendly people offered him crisps, cookies and juice. Finally on the boat at 1140am on on our bumpy trip over, Dad felt a bit sea sick and Mum and Harry took a tour of the boat and the kids play area. We arrived at 245pm and started on the long journey to the Hotel. We hit Glasgow at rush hour and made a few wrong turns because Mum and Dad were getting confused with the sat nav. Finally made it to the Hotel at 6pm. 5 hours late and very tired. We had dinner and got ready for a busy day ahead. Up for breakfast and then off to the loch lomand shores for an adventure. The day was perfect. We had a nice walk and met a man from Australia called Chris. We walked round a birds of prey centre and Mum had a look around the shops. We would go back there again. We went back to the hotel and went for a swim. It was lots of fun. During dinner we noticed that Harry was not himself and we finished quickly and went back to the room. Harry had a temperature 39. Oh dear. Calpol and neurofen all night but luckily it was helping to keep the temperature down and the next morning Harry asked to ho back to the pool so after breakfast Dad took him for a dip. We quickly packed and it was time for the trip to see Debbie. First we had a walk around the local village and a wee coffee. The trip was pretty quick. So we went to butterfly world. It was great fun. Lots of butterflies and we also saw snakes and spiders. Even watched the feeding of the snakes.
We had pizza for dinner at Debbies. Another great day but unfortunately Harry still needed medicine to keep the temperature down.
On Sunday we took a trip into Edinburgh, Debbie was tour guide again and did a great job. We had lunch at bella italia and it was great. Then off for a walk round the shops Dad got Mum a new purse for mothers day. Mum and Debbie went shopping for nicknacks :-) after all tje walking we stopped at a lovely patisserie for coffee and cake. On the way home we stopped at Krispy Kream for some doughnuts to take home.
Our last day started with breakfast at the lime kiln and then off to catch the boat home. The sailing home was much better than the one over. Home and very happy after a fantastic trip.
Lots of photos of our trip.
